Background

Peak-to-peak is a site advertising and promoting the services of Uttam Pokharel, a Nepali trekking guide whose services we employed on our honeymoon to Nepal in December 2003. After spending five glorious days under his expert tutelage in the ways of the Nepali people and their way of life, whilst journeying around the Annapurna ridge of Himalayan mountains, I agreed to design and develop a small site for him in the hope that it would help push more tourists interesting in trekking around Nepal and India in his direction.

How the site works

I designed the site in Photoshop and did the layout using XHTML and CSS. As the site is static, I didn't need to build it in ASP, although it does have a contact form that makes use of an ASP page to fire an email off via the CDONTS email module whenever a visitor fills in the contact form. I based the logo on a photo that I took of the Annapurna ridge whilst we were there that I then manipulated within Photoshop.
